Madison (Maddy) Ehn, daughter of Rhandi Lynn Ehn, has been selected as the Winter High School Student of the Month for October 2023! Maddy is a senior this year, planning to complete her high school classes after the first trimester so she can begin college in January 2024. While at Winter High School Maddy has worked hard to complete not only her high school credits, but also several college classes. Maddy is interested in a career in the medical field and has taken several steps to ensure she achieves this goal, even for her young age. This past spring she participated in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course offered through Dove Healthcare in Rice Lake. Over the summer she was one of just a few to be accepted to the Bellin College's Nursing Camp in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is unsure exactly where she is going to college, but has applied to University of Wisconsin - Madison and University of Tennessee and has been accepted to the University of Alabama. Maddy doesn’t just spend her time studying, but also plays Varsity volleyball and participates in Lakeland Honor Society while in school. Outside of school she is active in 4-H, the Market Animal Sale Committee for the Sawyer County Fair, club volleyball and works at Treeland Resorts. Jeff Suralski (High School Social Studies teacher) says, “Maddy is one of the hardest working students I've had in the last several years; always asks great questions and puts tremendous effort into her work. She is NEVER a student who just turns in an assignment "that's good enough.” That's never enough for Maddy, she puts pride into her work. Maddy’s volleyball coach Carrie Roberts says, “over the past four years Maddy has done a tremendous job growing her leadership skills. Her hard work and education is admired by coaches and teammates. Maddy brings humor to keep us laughing and her smile is contagious. Student of the month is well deserved.” Congratulations to Maddy for earning Student of the Month for October 2023!
