As most of the elementary parents know, we are struggling with illness again this week. Please remember that students should be 24-hour symptom-free for stomach illnesses and fever-free. We are doing extra cleanings throughout the building and encouraging handwashing.
On another note, we are starting to plan for summer school. Summer school will be running from June 3 through June 20. This year, we will focus on animals and support our readers with interventions and fun activities. With the state passing Act 20, a new reading law, we may contact families about summer school attendance. Students will be tested in 3rd grade and 8th for reading skills. If they don’t pass the state test, the students may be held back, and summer school is an excellent way to reduce the summer learning slide.
